Have out-of-network benefits? Your final cost may be considerably lower than the fees listed above. Many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful portion, and occasionally even nearly all, of the cost of eligible psychotherapy after any deductible is met. See the insurance information below for examples and instructions for checking your benefits.

I am a private-pay, out-of-network provider rather than an in-network insurance provider. You will generally pay the full fee at the time of your appointment, but I can provide a Superbill (an itemized receipt) containing the information your insurer needs for you to submit for possible reimbursement.
I accept HSA/FSA cards.
I am a Lotus Therapy Fund provider through the Asian Mental Health Collective. If you self-identify as Asian-heritage and are interested in learning how you may apply for 8 free therapy sessions, please click here.
I reserve 3 sliding scale spots for those experiencing financial need. Availability is limited, and you are welcome to inquire through my consultation request form.

Some PPO plans offer generous out-of-network mental-health benefits, so your final cost may be substantially lower than my full fee. Two real life examples illustrate what may be possible:
MIT SHIP’s (Student Health Insurance Plan) 2025–2026 BCBS plan pays 100% of the BCBS allowed amount for the first 52 out-of-network mental-health visits in a calendar year and 80% of the allowed amount after 52 visits.
One 2026 Harvard Pilgrim PPO-Flex plan has a $500 individual out-of-network deductible followed by 20% coinsurance for outpatient mental-health care. This means the plan pays 80% of its allowed amount after the deductible has been met.
For example, if an insurer’s allowed amount were $150 and the plan covered 80%, the reimbursement would be $120. Your final cost would then be $60 for a $180 session or $110 for a $230 session.
These examples are provided to illustrate the range of benefits available under some plans; they do not guarantee coverage under your particular plan. Insurance reimbursement is generally calculated from the insurer’s allowed amount, which may be lower than my full fee. Before the out-of-network deductible is met, a plan may reimburse little or nothing, and benefits can also vary from year to year.

Call the member-services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for telehealth outpatient psychotherapy with an LICSW (in MA)/LCSW (in NV)?
What is my annual out-of-network deductible, and how much of it remains?
Is the deductible waived for outpatient mental-health care?
After meeting the deductible, what percentage of the plan’s allowed amount will I be responsible for?
What is the plan’s allowed amount or estimated reimbursement for:
90791: initial diagnostic evaluation
90834: 38–52-minute individual psychotherapy
90837: 53-minute-or-longer individual psychotherapy
90847: family or couples psychotherapy with the identified client present
Are prior authorization or referrals required?
Is reimbursement different for telehealth and in-person appointments?
How do I submit a Superbill, and is there a deadline for submitting claims?
Tip: It can be more useful to ask for the estimated dollar reimbursement for each code than to ask only for a reimbursement percentage. For example, “80% coverage” usually means 80% of the insurer’s allowed amount, not necessarily 80% of my full fee.
For couples or relationship therapy, also ask specifically whether the plan covers CPT code 90847 and whether it covers relational Z codes such as Z63.0. Insurance generally reimburses couples sessions only when the service is medically necessary treatment for an identified client’s mental-health condition; relationship counseling by itself is not always covered.

A Superbill must generally include a mental health diagnosis to demonstrate medical necessity. This diagnosis becomes part of the information submitted to your insurance company.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about privacy, diagnosis, or whether using out-of-network benefits is right for you. Some clients find it makes more sense for their situation to be fully private pay and not submit claims to insurance.
