Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching focuses on the present and future, helping to identify and clarify goals and dreams and implement actionable steps to move towards them with accountability and support. The Coaching process centers on empowering you to create sustainable forward momentum towards creating and living your vision of a thriving and flourishing life.
Coaching can be suitable for those who are:
Facing life transitions and wanting to navigate them with more resilience, optimism, and growth-mindset
Looking to deepen and strengthen existing relationships and/or find and cultivate new connections and community
Wanting to develop healthier habits and routines
Desiring greater fulfillment and purpose
How is Life Coaching different from therapy?
Life Coaching is NOT psychotherapy.
Life Coaching is most appropriate for those who are seeking to learn new skills, strategies, and gain support and accountability for concrete, present and future-focused goals.
Life Coaching is not the best fit for those who are seeking help for mental health concerns that may be better addressed by psychotherapy or other mental health services. As it is not considered a medical service, it is also not covered by health insurance and does not involve treatment geared towards a mental health diagnosis.
Life Coaching may sometimes be appropriate if you already have a mental health provider you are working with, and want to add Life Coaching as a complement or supplement to that work.
If you are unsure whether Life Coaching is right for you, feel free to reach out to schedule a free consultation with me to see whether Life Coaching or Therapy would be a better fit for you at this time.

Mindfulness Coaching & Consultation

What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a particular form of paying attention to our present moment experience, noticing “what is” with curiosity and non-judgement.
With practice, mindfulness can help us learn to become more resilient to difficult experiences and to notice and savor pleasant experiences. This can allow us to cultivate more positive mental and emotional states that support emotional, mental, physical, and social wellbeing.
What is 1:1 Mindfulness Coaching?
As your Mindfulness Coach, I will collaborate with you in creating a personalized mindfulness practice and support you in incorporating the principles of mindfulness and meditation into your daily life. Whether your goals are for more inner peace, health, happiness, improving relationships or just overall wellbeing, Mindfulness Coaching can be suitable whether you have zero experience or many years of practice and seeking some revitalization and accountability.
While each session is tailored for the individual, most sessions will include some guided practice, inquiry, time to review how your home practice is going, suggestions for the future, and opportunities to ask questions or troubleshoot challenges you are encountering. Between sessions, it can often be helpful to keep a journal of your mindfulness-related questions and experiences so we can review them when we meet.
How is Mindfulness Coaching different from therapy?
Mindfulness Coaching is NOT psychotherapy. Mindfulness Coaching is most appropriate for those who are seeking to learn mindfulness skills and gain support and accountability to access the many benefits a regular mindfulness practice can offer. Mindfulness Coaching is not the best fit for those who are seeking help for mental health concerns that may be better addressed by psychotherapy or other mental health services. Mindfulness Coaching may sometimes be appropriate if you already have a mental health provider you are working with, and want to add Mindfulness Coaching as a complement or supplement to that work.

Do you also offer other forms of mindfulness consulting and customized services?

These services can range from a one-time presentation and discussion, to a short workshop, to more extended programs. A few examples of workshops and presentations I have given include:

What is my mindfulness background?
I have over 13 years personal meditation and mindfulness practice, including daily formal and informal practice, and completion of week+ long retreats, workshops, and practice groups. I am also a Certified Instructor for the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindful Behavior Change (MBC) programs, and completed a 1-year Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy Certificate Program. I find the principles of mindfulness and compassion to be immensely helpful in both my personal and professional experience, and am passionate about helping others access and connect to these tools and ideas!
